Commercial Real Estate

Real Estate Glossary

The other type of real estate is commercial real estate. Instead of residential real estate, which involves homes, it involves commercial buildings instead. Large or small buildings or tiny offices, commercial real estate is basically everything else that does not involve a home or a place to live.

Just like residential real estate, it is in your best interest to find a commercial real estate agent if you are planning to buy or sell a commercial property. If you are a seller, your realty professional will market your commercial property the best way to possible to make sure it gets sold. Since commercial properties usually sell for far more than residential properties sell for, the commission your realty professional will receive is usually lower. If you are a buyer that is looking to buy a commercial property for investment opportunities, what better way to start off your business venture than to find a qualified commercial real estate agent.

With the instability of the real estate market right now, just like buying, selling should happen quickly. Let's say you want to sell your commercial property, but you believe in a couple years it will sell for much, much more, so you decide to wait. This may be so, however, the real estate bubble can burst at any time, and who knows when profit from selling can be made again. If you wait too much longer to sell, you may wind up getting a LOWER price for your property than you would have if you sold your property now! The same with purchasing - you may be waiting for a bubble to burst and prices to drop dramatically and it may be too long before that happens, or you may not be in the position to buy anymore. Now is the time for buyers and sellers to act!
